Excellent Addition To The Series!, November 21, 2014

Omega Ruby is excellent remake that truly stands out among the others in the franchise. With over 700 different Pokémon you won’t get bored searching for new ones, but on top of that it gives old players of the originals a great sense of nostalgia and good memories. That’s not to say that this game isn’t for newcomers, because they will have just as much fun with this game than the nostallic players.

Graphics: The 3D graphics look awesome on the 3DS, and everything from the Pokémon to the environments look great in the new edition.

Gameplay: If you’ve played other Pokémon titles then you know what to expect. It’s the same old fashion game, but of course with a polished update that makes the series feel fresh and entertaining.

What’s Different: Of course X & Y introduced Mega Evolve and this game is no exception to that new type of temporary Pokémon evolution. For players who didn’t play the last games in the franchise just know all you have to do is find special stone to make your Pokémon do this special evolution. I don’t remember if this was in the original, but in the 3DS remake you can actually sneak up on Pokémon you see hiding in the grass.

Story: The story isn’t the best, but then again the gameplay and catching Pokémon is what matters in a Pokémon game, and it more than excels at doing those two things very well. Bottom line is that Pokémon Omega Ruby is a must play for all fans of the series. I recommend picking up the strategy guide too. What to expect from an outstanding long awaited remake:, November 21, 2014

Got it at the midnight release! You can get a shiny Beldum just like you got Torchic in X and Y and if you made a pre-order, the game comes with a poster with Kyogre and Groudon on one side and Diancie on the other.

I am a HUGE Hoenn fan, so granted, I wanted an amazing remake. I got it. 😀 Like X and Y, you can choose a language but you cannot customize your character, which is a huge disappointment after we were able to do that in X and Y. WHY? Besides that, the graphics are stunning for the 3ds and a VAST improvement from the original gameboy games as to be expected. It’s essentially X and Y in Hoenn, but better. Nostalgia comes back to bite you as it did me, and I sadly already finished the game because I couldn’t stop playing this. If you were lucky to get a code, you can transfer some data over, including a Glalie with a megastone. They went all out with this game. Remember that scene in the beginning of X and Y where your bird flies in your room, and the first p.ov. as you open your door? Now imagine that same animation used to show you in the moving truck as you watch Professor Birch on your electronics, and scan the forests and sky. Amazing. I am so happy, the nostalgia is strong with this game.

As always you can expect the traditional pokemon formula, music, and improved graphics with each entry. There are noticeable differences between Ruby and Sapphire, one being that you deal mostly with Archie and Maxie, depending on which version you get. These games are compatible with X and Y and the nintendo club code is actually on the cover art. Remove it and it is on the back-pretty cool, but you run the risk of damaging the slip cover. Wallace is actually a gym leader, and I personally felt as if the game was more story driven than other pokemon games-remember the story in Black and White? Sort of like that. There are contests called Contest Spectaculars which is the same as in the gameboy versions, with a new name and ugraded visuals and some extra things tossed in. Super-secret bases are back!!!! 😀

Essentially, this game is worthy of the gameboy originals. I really enjoyed it! I hope this helped you in any way in your decision to purchase this remake, and even if you haven’t played the originals, have only played X or Y, or this is your first Pokemon game, it truly is worth adding to your collection!

Living up to what I had expected.. and much more! It is a remake of the old Ruby (Pilot will be the same), but better because they added NEW features to it!

Graphics are like X&Y, plus you still can do wonder trade and mega evolution. They also took off the option to select your skin color. To be honest, it wasn’t a big deal for me personally since they did not represent my skin color in x&y. You can now sneak/creep up to some Pokemon if they are visible in tall grasses.

Professor Birch seems kind of sassy in this game, well at least in the beginning. Maybe it has to do something with his facial hair…..??ANYWAYS, Mauville City is now like an inside mall with random shops on the side.. I had to look up the city map just to find the bike shop.

There are now personal flags for your secret base. Street pass needs to be enabled to capture someone’s flag. I highly recommend keeping Street Pass on just to find some secret bases. Turn on wifi or the internet option (like if you want to do wondertrade) and you can view newsfeeds from other trainers– not just the news about you! How cool is that?!

BASICALLY, this remake is to show off the insane graphics and sound effects. Pilot is still the same like Ruby, but they altered it a tad (I mean ohh so slightly) bit to show off the graphics. YES, I know I keep saying that on this review, but that is the truth.

*****Also, an important thing to note is that this did not come with any poster or collectible item since I pre-ordered on Amazon. Different websites may offer a collectible item with this game*****

I would like to give a shout out to Pokemon for making the BEST opening scene in the moving truck. My mind was blown. Awesome, awesome, awesome. It felt like I was watching an actual episode 🙂

Yes, I recommend this game in a heartbeat because Hoenn is my favorite region. If you are unsure I highly suggest that you check out Youtube for some reviews/walk-through.
